Florahum - SSP
Seeding and Potting Substrate

Florahum SSP is a specially developed substrate with properties between SP and SS substrate, so it is suitable for seeding and replant.

Composition

It is made as mixture of organic and mineral materials mainly of white peat (Sphagnum) and black peat. It has high consistency, stability and good physical and chemical properties. By adding a certain amount of lime, the pH of the substrate is optimized and , by addition of the clay, adsorptive properties. In the substrate was added a wetting agent (FIBA Zorb or Hidrogel) and perlite that further improves its physical properties.
Enriched with nutrients in quantities that enable the development of young seedlings. The amount of salt is larger than that of the SS substrate, but not too large to be unfavorable for very nutrient-sensitive plants. Nutrients are adapted to young seedlings and there is enough nutrients for plants to grow, regardless of whether the substrate was used for seeding or potting.

Usage

For seeding , potting and growing young plants of vegetable or flowering plants. Substrate contains all the ingredients needed for successful development. It is intended primarily for breeding and production of paprika, tomato, cucumber, eggplant and other vegetables.

This substrate provides an ideal habitat for seeding of all even the smallest seeds, as well as for potting plants in containers or seedling trays.

Packages: 20 lit bag (132 pcs per pallet )

Advantages

-Substrate have a high structural stability. The structure allows seeding even the smallest seeds, as well as for potting plants in containers or seedling trays.
- Sterilized with water vapor at 95 C min. 30 minutes.
- Contains all the necessary macro and micro-elements
- Magnesium and iron are in chelated form
-Optimal pH value for production of pepper, tomato, cucumber, eggplant and other vegetables from seeding until planting on permanent location.
- Holds moisture for a long time ( added wetting agent Fiba Zorb or Hidrogel )
- Packaging suitable for professional and hobby use ( 20 liter )

Nutrient content

Nitrogen (N) 100-200 mg/L
Phosphorus (as P2O5) 100-200 mg/L
Potassium (as K20) 200-300 mg/L
Magnesium (as MgO) 50-80 mg/L

Besides basic macroelements, substrate contain all necessary microelements added in form of RADIGEN mixtures, mainly in chelated form.

— Active reaction (pH in water, 1:2.5): 5.5 – 6.5
— Total dissolved salt (1:2): 0,9- 1,1 g/L

FLORAHUM – SSP is structurally homogenous: the black peat component connects the structural elements, while the white (Sphagnum) improves the physical properties.  It is not necessary to sterilize substrate before planting, but it should be ensured that post-infection of the substrate does not occur during sowing and breeding. Substrate is  enriched with a polymers based wetting agent for fast and more durable water-tightening. Wetting agent reduces the number of watering and thus the rinsing of nutrients in substrates.  Plants can experience the so-called. "Shock" when watering with cold water. It is therefore recommended to use the stale water.

Seeding in seedling trays /potting :  For the production of seedlings - pepper, tomato, cucumber, aubergine and other vegetables, it is recommended to use a styrofoam cassette, whose planting area should not be less than 5-6 cm. It is not necessary to sterilize Florahum SP before planting.   It is recommended in the second half of the breeding period, due to possible rinsing of the nutrients, to fertilize the young plants using fertilizers with an emphasized content of phosphorus and potassium. Nourishment can be performed trough the soil with combinations of NPK 8:13:24; 11:44:11; 13:40:13; 14:10:34 or through a leaf (foliar). The concentrations of the nutrients for the foliar nurishment should be 0.1% to 0.15%, i.e., 10-15 cm3 concentrated solution to 10 liters of water. In case of a balanced and good growth of plants, fertilizing can be done later, by the combination of NPK 20:20:20. It is necessary to regularly monitor the health of the plants and treat them with appropriate protective compounds, recommended by an expert.

Seeding for initial development:  In the case of poor and uneven rise of seedlings, it is recommended to apply the nutrients through the substrate or trough the leaf. Use combinations of liquid or crystalline fertilizers with an emphasis phosphorus and potassium quantities. We suggest combinations of 8:13:14; 14:10:34; 11:44:11 or a combination of 20:20:20 in case of a steady growth. When feeding over the substrate, use a solution of 1 g / L of crystalline fertilizer in water. If liquid fertilizers are applied trough a leaf (foliar) we also recommend combinations with emphasized phosphorus and potassium concentrations, but at quantities that is 50% lower than recommended in the leaflet. The treatment should be done earlier in the morning or in the cloudy weather, to avoid burns of plants. Fertilizing should be performed 10-14 days after plants starting in 7 to 10 days intervals.
